How do I use the Quote Request Template?
Simply fill in the fields for your project, contact information, and timeline. As you type, the template on the right will update in real time. Once you’re ready, click the “Copy Quote Request” button to copy the entire message to your clipboard, ready to paste into an email.
How does the tool save my data?
The tool uses your web browser’s local storage to save the information you enter. This means you can close the browser tab and your data will still be there when you come back. It’s stored locally on your device and is not sent to any server.
What happens if I clear my browser's cache?
If you clear your browser’s data, including local storage, all the project details and quotes you’ve entered will be permanently deleted.
How do I add a new quote for comparison?
Click the “Add Another Quote” button at the bottom of the page. A new, blank quote form will appear, allowing you to enter details from a new service provider.
Can I remove a quote if I no longer need it?
Yes. Each quote form has a small trash icon in the top-right corner. Click this icon to delete that specific quote from your list.
What do the checklists "Questions to Ask" and "Apples-to-Apples" do?
These are static checklists that serve as a guide. They are there to help you remember key questions to ask a service provider and what details to look for when comparing quotes. They are not interactive within the tool itself.
How do I print my quotes?
Click the “Print” button. This will open your browser’s print dialog. The page is designed to automatically hide the input forms and buttons for printing, giving you a clean, organized view of your project details and all your saved quotes.
Is my data secure?
Since your data is saved only in your local browser storage, it is not accessible by anyone else online. However, it’s not encrypted, so you should only use this tool for non-sensitive information.

No. Because the data is stored in your browser’s local storage on a specific device, it will not be available if you open the tool on a different computer, tablet, or phone.
What if I want to edit a quote I already entered?
Simply find the quote form you want to edit and click on any of the fields. The tool automatically saves your changes as you type.
